    I am currently writing a program that will retrieve a file from a J2SE server and display the contents of the file (3 lines of text) on the J2ME toolkit phone. The file is retrieved correctly and the contents are displayed on the console but they do not display on the phone. I believe that the Program gets stuck in the following loop.
    While ((line) readUTF () !=null)
    {
    Reply = reply + line;
    System.out.In………
    }

    I think the problem lies with readUTF != null.. Can this be done or what other options are possible?

    Had this problem in my final year project... never got it working because it was such a small issue.

    Solution was something to do with PrintWriter, never worked for me though.

    Sorry can't be of more help.

    Incidentally don't you mean J2EE server?
