Change of number still required and Smart are still a long way from the 100.000 so you are ok!;)

Are you sure? Smart aren't advertising free line rental any longer.

Am probably covered but NTL didn't come into my estate until a few months ago - as a result I had Sky in and wasn't going to pay twice for TV.

Yeah it really sucks that you can't get NTL broadband without the TV especially since thay don't have anything that comes even close to SKY+.

So still no news of the Cork Central exchange then Garfield?
It seems like its been first on the "Next" list in your signature for ages and now everywhere else on that list will be available before us.

Yeas, good question.I would like to see an answer for that too :D

Fisrt they promised me it would go alive 24th of Sept. Then they said 1 more week, then 2 more weeks, then no exact date, the 2 more weeks again...:(

I really need some answer Garfield ;)
Since I'm using Ripwave I have serious nervous breakdowns :D

I think you can get chorus in cork now. Anyone tried it?

I've asked them in march. The problem is you can't get broadband through the same cable you got the TV signal. You need an additional cable, but that is available only in newer buildings(because that cable goes underground).Guess what?My cable comes through an arerial via the roof...It doesn't matter the buildings around me can get broadband...except my building.
But Chorus has a monthly download cap anyway.
With my crappy Ripwave connection I'm downloading at least 15GB a month :)

We are doing all we can in Cork Central, delay is outside our control.

Is Eircom cousing the delay with Cork Central exchange?
Any hope it will go alive this week?
    If not I can't wait anymore :(

    Hi,

The following exchanges/ dates will be met in the coming weeks:

North Main:- First week in November (this week).
Letterkenny:- First/ second week in November.

    ...

    Garfield.

first / second week over - is Letterkenny any closer to completion:v: ?

I'm based in the North Main area and received a generic email over the weekend saying that Smart are "awaiting delivery of your Customer Authorisation Form or your Direct Debit Mandate or Both."

I received no response today when I replied to say that the direct debit mandate was sent to Smart in March/April and I did check at the time that they had received it.
A signed Customer Authorisation Form was sent in early October in response to an email from Smart received at the end of September.

It doesn't fill me with confidence in their service if they have already lost forms that contain my personal financial details. Is this the norm? Have others had to resend these forms?

And while I'm here can I ask anyone with the Smart service do they send the router/modem by post or courier? Will they send it to an alternative day time address if they are asked?

Is their sign of Waterford Central or Waterford Tycor being enabled?
    Any idea if it'll be Q1, Q2, Q3 or Q4 of 2006? ;)

Oh my gosh, every exchange goes alive before Cork Central...and those supposed to be live AFTER :(

I almost smashed my Ripwave sh..box today

Just tell me the name who is responsible for the delay of Cork Central (I know it's not Smart's fault) and I'll find that person...and I'll force him/her to use a Ripwave connection for a year :D
    I'm not joking...

But if it won't go alive after next week I have to go with BT or something similar...

Seems to be conflicting reports from smart when you ring them up for an update, and whats being said here in relation to the letterkenny exchange. Is this a case of the left hand not knowing what the right is at?
