Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Anyone know of a good beginners guide to linux. Theres plenty out there but can anyone recommend ?

    www.linux.ie has a very comprehensive guide in plain english. Covers installation step by step, some commands to get you started, the directory structure/paths etc. It is lacking in some areas (Lilo and Xwindows to name a few) but its the best ive seen.

    Got my hands on Idiots guide to linux which is probably as good a place as any to start.

    hodges figges on dawson street have a massive selection of unix/linux related books (well a whole shelf smile.gif, 3rd floor down the back if I remember.

    Look out for 'Running Linux 3rd Edition', one of the best Linux books out there.
