Hi all. Am I correct in assuiming the a Skype call anywhere in Ireland is always cheaper than the Eircom rate? Skype rate is 1.7c per min as opposed to either 5 or 2c per minute that Eircom charge, depending on time of day. Plus Eircom charge 21% vat on top.

Can anyone confirm that the above is factual?

    Tks.

Old joke: You must work for Microsoft.

You answered all questions but solved nothing.

    E.G. What is Eircom local?

Before you decide to tangentilise, please see my original question. Address that if you can, But thanks for the reply bud!

Why bother with either, when you can make 100% free phone call to any land line in Ireland, England, or a butt-load of other countries:
    http://www.voipcheap.co.uk/en/index.html

I've been using this service now for quite some time, and it's incredible. Can free free calls to any land line.
When you first sign up, this only lasts for 1 minute at a time, but if you deposit £5 with them, then there are no time restrictions. I did the latter, and my account balance is still at £5.00 after making about 100 hours worth of free phone calls. Dunno if this is gonna last much longer or not, but as long as it does, I'll be sitting prim on the pig's back!!

What don't you understand? Eircom local is a local call (same prefix to same prefix). Eircom national is a call to another prefix. Non-grographic is an 1850/1890/etc number.
