Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Amityville Horror

    Hi Comrades of truth,

Just wondering if anyone caught the documentary 'The Real Amityville Horror' on C4 the other week. It's a case I've always been interested in, and thought the documentary was very good. It presented both sides of the argument well, and hinted at the fact that Defoe Jr. wasn't the sole killer, which was intriquing.

There were some nay sayers, but as Lutz said, they didn't live there, experience any of it or have any personal experience with it, so who are they to say it's untrue.

What do others think of the Amityville case?

(BTW: The new film is pure bull, so I'd recommend people to research it if they are going to solely base on the film. Lutz himself said he thought the original movie was over-dramatised, with the flies and slime/blood oozing from the walls, but in comparison to the new movie, the original was like a documentary. :))

Yeah saw the documentary, very insightful but I haven't seen either of the films. The pic of the litte boy was creepy (Peeping out from behind the doorway) I think they should have got some interviews from the people who are currently living there and haven't experienced (or at least haven't reported experiencing) anything negative going on in the house

Apparently, the people living there have never had any problems and think it's all nonsense... although they did say they cleansed the house eventually (prior to the new residents moving in). Also, some people seem to be magnets or conduits for paranormal phenomenon, particularly pubescent girls for some reason.

I thought it was a very good documentary, and didn't lose the run of itself either. Another recent C4 documentary by Nick Cook was also excellent, and stuck to the facts, with some great interviews (former head of CIA during Cold War, who admitted they used the UFO study as disinformation in many cases).

Even though the current residents of the house seem fine with it, I still sure as hell wouldn't want to live in that house. If only for the fact that brutal murders of an entire family took place within it's walls....
