Get a Packard Bell Fast-Media Remote Control.

Its arround a tenner (great value for money when compared to the rest) on the web and really usefull for DVD programs , WINAMP and powepoint plus its highly tweakable. you can get LINUX and NT/2000 drivers for it.

plus you get a serial IR thingy which with some good programing you can make an app to accept signals from your TV remote so you can be at one with your controlling!!
