Credit Card Transactions

    Anybody know what the story is with Credit Card Transactions over the Web? From a developers point of view that is.

    Say I'm building a site that supplies a service that folks pay for, they visit the site, pick the service they want, pay for it, and get it there and then.

    Do I need to sort out an account with a bank? Or Visa? Do I need to get on of those credit card machines? Is this looked after on the hosts side?

    Any information would be great.

    I was talking to the girl in the bank about it yesterday and she asked me what was on sale and I just said "Images"

    It was only when I got outside that I realised why she was looking at me weird!
