  • Closed Accounts Posts: 332 ✭✭o sleep

oh, i forgot to mention tindersticks beautiful 'can our love' record. i'm going to see them tomorrow and i can't wait.

also, although i don't know if it was released as a single, the first song off the new mercury rev album. now, i don't like mercury rev (and 'desert on a hiway' is up there with the revs 'wired to the moon' as one of the most irritating songs ever written) but this song just makes me melt.

i think slayer are past it. and don't get me started on slipknot. they have to wear masks to be scary? just imagine what they look like under those masks ... normal mid20s to early 30s boys with short neat haircuts and glasses. not scary.

Well I'm looking forward to hearing Aphex Twin's new record....which is out in November......it appears he's has put off his retirerment for a while.....

as far as slipsnot goes....it's all just a bit of fun really....it's like metal cartoon music mixed with 80's slasher movies..

hmm Daft Punks pantsy girly techno bipptybop album is mentioned several times but not once is Let It Come Down named.

Nor the single for that matter.

And one mention for Bjorks Hidden Place? the dvd single release of which is absolutely stunning (video w/ audio in 5.1? yes please).

And there I was thinking phantom listeners had a bit of taste ;)

I just got new albums from Ben Folds and Jack L, both are great even though Jack L has gone a bit pop. Ben Folds Rockin' the Suburbs is my ablum of the year so far. But Shane MacGowan has a new live ablbum out this week so it might take over as my fav.

    [

I was fairly impressed(and surprised at that) with this album too.
Some really good stuff on it. I didn't want to know anything
about them at first but good music can't be avoided. Probably
the only present American rock made for teenagers that i gave in to.

Will there ever be a rock phase like that of 91-93 again?
    RAge/pearl jam/nirvana/chilis/metallica/pumpkins
    -v-
    LinkinP/PapaR/LimpB/Blink# and other gReenDay clones/

We had it good back then
