    Hi all
I need to be able to log into an NT machine from another NT machine and run commands remotely, be it using rsh or telnetting in or whatever. It also needs to be free. (yeah I'm not asking much). Oh - it has to be command line - it'll be run automagically on the server.
    anyone got any ideas?

    cheers.

I recall looking a while ago (for some reason or other...) Theres not a lot of free one out there,
one that is is Fictional Telnet Daemon I believe, never looked at it though...

You could also try OpenSSH with cygwin.

    robbo: read his post again.

hes not looking for a client, hes looking for a daemon. ie a server.

deRanged: have u taught about VNC or pcanywhere?
bith would do the job you want.

google is your friend, so abuse him.

    thanks all.
I tried fictional's telnetd but couldn't get it working. I settled on
denicomp's rshd which works perfectly. (www.denicomp.com)
it's just like using a real operating system :)

is pcanywhere commandline based ? I thought it was a windows thing.

VNC is cool not really command line based though, but its one step better than a command promt style, u can see there desktop and move there mouse, type on their keyboard v.handy although you probably want something difirent however it is nice!

If you were totally mad you could use netcat to run cmd.exe and listen on particular port.
Mind you, rsh really isn't a whole lot better

Or if your going for vnc try tight vnc. Its got more configs for compression etc. Not to bad even over a 56 kb connection. Fiction demon is my fav though.:)
