    http://ericnuzum.com/banned/clearchannel.html

A list of songs that have been banned from the airways in America.

Included are the likes of Metallica's Seek and Destroy, REM's It's The End Of The World As We Know It and EVERY Rage Against The Machine song.

What a complete load of toss.

Typically American over-reaction and lack of ability to do anything realistic about a problem. That makes me more angry than jets flying into buildings and that'd make me want to start performing terrorist acts.

    * Disclaimer:
To any idiot Americans reading, I don't care what you think.

All Rage Against The Machine songs

How f*cked up is that? It is actually making me sick right now.

Are no radio stations in America allowed to these songs now or ever again?
    Foo Fighters "Learn to Fly"
    Alanis Morissette "Ironic"

I guess by American logic, people won't be left write a song with a plane in it ever again.

Could censorship in America possibly get any worse? :(

Em its not a list of songs that have been banned from the airwaves in the US, to quote the article
Following the September 11th terrorist attacks, Clear Channel Communications, the largest owner of radio stations in the United States, releases a list of more than 150 "lyrically questionable"songs that station's may want to pull from their playlists.

thats 'may want to pull', not banned.

Of course Noggie, you're correct. I let the anger get a hold and added 2+2 and got 26 ;)

Still, it's an extremely flucked up idea to censor music because it *might* mention something bad. Ban all country and Western music - that's the most depressing ever!

Is this for real or wot??

I had to post when I saw my all time favs were on the list...
Stone Temple Pilots "Big Bang Baby," Dead and Bloated"

    Also
Alien Ant Farm- Smooth Criminal ???

W/out discounting the sensitivities of current world events-
C'mon PPL this is censorship. Metallica "One" is anti-War song and if that is not to be heard @ time like this then I do not know what the world is coming to.

    Shocking

BTW just re-read that page linked...

    It does say...

" Clear Channel's List of Songs with Questionable Lyrics "

Does that mean they're going to be banned or simply earmarked for no Airplay at this time??

Maybe its not so bad- but still censorship Damn It:(

I mean WTF does Nina's 99 red baloons have to do w/ ANYTHING??

    ENGLISH:

You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got
Set them free at the break of dawn
Til one by one, they were gone
Back at base bugs in the software
Flash the message, something's out there
    Floating in the summer sky
    99 red balloons go by

    99 red balloons
    Floating in the summer sky
    Panic bells it's red alert
There's something here from somewhere else
The war machine springs to life
    Opens up one eager eye
    Focusing it on the sky
Where 99 red balloons go by

    99 Decision street
    99 ministers meet
    To worry, worry, super scurry
Call the troops out in a hurry
This is what we've waited for
This is it boys, this is war
The president is on the line
As 99 red balloons go by

    99 knights of the air
Ride super high tech jet fighters
    Everyone's a super hero
    Everyone's a Captain Kirk
    With orders to identify
    To clarify, and classify
    Scramble in the summer sky
    99 red balloons go by

    99 dreams I have had
In every one a red balloon
It's all over and I'm standing pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenir
Just to prove the world was here
And here is a red balloon
Just to prove the world was here
And here is a red balloon
I think of you, and let it go

hmm, can see the interpretation in a WTC context, seems OTT
