Dunno if this is the right forum but...does anyone know if coiling excess of bi-wire (4 core) speaker cable degrades the sound?

    Bucon.

    excess? how much exactly?

if we're talking about a metre or two then no... any longer than
that and the quality of the cable itself determines any degradation if any... any decent cable will be well shielded so it shouldnt interefere with itself (haha).

a lot of people do tend to keep both interconnects and speaker cables as short as possible, though thats probably down to perfection moreso than overall sound quality.

It will degrade, thought not by a huge amount as long as the shielding is decent (you have to worry about capacitance aswell as crosstalk). Try figure of 8's instead of repeated/stacked loops, it'll reduce crosstalk a little more.
Nordost ECO3 is a also a good idea, it's an antistatic spray for cables (And can be used on the CD label side also - yes it does make a difference).

Its decent Soniclink cable. The excess is only on one of the cables, dus to the positioning and keeping the cables the same length.
Ill try the figure of eight, instead of coiling it, im glad to hear the cable isnt going to feck up the sound after spending a fortune on the gear :)

    Bucon.
