infra-red port in win2k

    problem is it just wont work.
    was fine in win98, but i upgraded and now it just doesnt want to work. anyone had any experience with this?
    its just a standard infra red port on my laptop.
    have installed service pack 2 as well and still no joy

    error message in properties reads this device cannot start. (code 10)

    What model is the laptop?

    The port on my Toshiba Satellite Pro works perfectly. Win2k picked it up no problem...

    WWM, if its a Gateway , have a look at the chassis part no. (should start with 350xxxx), and post it here, i'll check it up if you like.

    there are no 2k driver for older gateways
    i should know.
    i worked there until 2 months ago :)

    Thats why i suggested the chassis no, WWM.
    Also,some of the larger accounts got support on stuff that the rest didnt..
