Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

EOL driver revision

Question for anyone on EOL, like anyother piece of hardware i install i'm reluctant to install the drivers that came on the instalation cd without finding out first whether the revision is buggy etc.

The release.txt file on the root of the installation says release version 1.5.010 , and the manual mentions unlocking the hardware, WTF, is this bios locked and needs to hooked up and pointed to 19.2 before it will even work??!!

I havent got my dish moved yet and was hoping to just play around with the software for a while and see can i tune in any channels @28.2 (ie the Sky direction).

Lastly, will be installing it on an kg-7 raid mobo with an athlon 1.4ghz cpu if thats pertinent to the driver revision question

The card is a TechniSat , with a large chip onboard referring to B2C2,FlexCop II, the back of the card has Model :SKY2PC, p/n 92100-20010, rev 2.3

TechniSats download page lists the latest drivers for the Skystar 2 (presumably what i have) as being rev 3.0.6, which appears to be a much more recent version, or are EOL using a OEM type of card which these drivers are not safe to use on?

    Just use the EON drivers.

The new drivers EON provide lock the bios of the card and to unlock it you need to use some id code EON gave you to contact EON and they will unlock it for you.
Also the new drivers stop Unicast downloading.

Hi chernobyl, just installed the software from the cd, all installed no problems, on reboot it connected to the net and asked me to enter my activation code, but when entered it sait it was invalid??

Yet when i got the confirmation of order email i followed the instructions to the letter..How to activate your Europe Online account :

    - Please go to http://www.europeonline.net
    - Click on the "First time user" button.
    - In this new window carefully type in the activation code and pin number and click on "submit"
    - Next, our Security certificate will Pop up click on "YES" to accept.
    - This will bring up the personal contact screen. Please fill in this form especially the lines marked with a small red box or you will not be able to register.
    - At the bottom of the screen in the second section, you will be asked to choose your username and password. This will now be your username for all the future sections.
    - When you have finished the screen click on "submit"
, which all worked fine and was able to register and get a user name and password.

But it wont accept them for the card and the software says no signal detected, although there definately is one ( is still pointed at 28.2 but from my reading of the help files it just needs the dishes lnb settings to receive and then scan for channels), the digibox gets the FTA channels no problem.

    WTF??!!

Many thanks chernobyl, i mailed them and they said to use the username and password i setup initially and leave the serial field blank.

Which did appear to work..but still no signal detected...

So then presumably necessary to set it up manually?

So add in ...call it Sky (28.2 after all), reading the help files the default settings here should be fine?

    eon1.jpg

But here i've no clue what to do ..

    eon2.jpg

Tried looking on the Astra website but don't seem to find (or understand) what i'm looking for.

Any idea how i do this, its driving me crazy.
chernobyl is your site back up?

Figured it out, mainly thanks to your link bkehoe, have about 20 or 30 FTA channels now that i can watch (mmm..fashion tv is going to be beered viewing later :) )

    Now for the fun part...

Got a "Satellite Finder" kit from Maplins this evening, and have hired out a 30 foot ladder for the weekend , so gonna give moving the dish myself (to 19.2), with help from a couple of friends tomorrow.

Rang about 20 sat installers in the Golden Pages this afternooon and none seemed to be bothered, that will be about 6 weeks...booked up etc....the last call i made , the fecker said no problem , will cost £160!!!!!!..to align a dish!!.....i politely declined his "offer" and decided its gonna be a learning experience instead.
