Flogen, I think that this may teach us all a little lesson in respect... if anything. It seems that your forum has something to be learned, for example censorship. Your forum really is "disturbing". Freedom is a beautiful thing but beauty is something that cannot be bragged about and glamourised it seems. You agitated many peoples ideas of equilibrium and they had to show you their moderation. If you hadn't of shouted about how great your freedom was the impersonators may not have impersonated.

I am definately one for freedom but it seems that freedom wasn't something you wanted because freedom is what you got.

Just be thankful you didn't get any real muppetry from some of the regular past and present boards muppets. You have a great idea but try not to brag about it in other people's houses.

I agitated your forum too under different pseudonyms and saw that you had no control over nicknames. I don't respect the sweary words but I respect what they stand for. I also respect your fire but I don't respect how you handle it. I'm sure that you are better than all that, why don't you prove it to your forum.

(have you checked out ikonboard.com.... they have a great free board that you can have passwords and moderation control, we all need a bit of control)

i would like to say thanks to Dahasta and Gorden for their honest in admitting they are some of those behind the impersonators on my site. I may have gone on a bit much about my freedom, and it backfired, but i still stand by the perhaps idealistic vision of a censorship-free forum. also, thanks to Gordon for the link, i will check it out, and see what its like. And as for my wording of statements about this incident, they may have sounded over-angry, and probably funny to some, but i was intent on finding the people who did it, and i will be if it continues. also, i would like to thank the mystery person who set up a new flogen forum on cjb.net, it may be slanderous, but i count it as a fan site(!!!!!) and my first at that.

in future i will try to use more user-friendly methods of advertisement, and i will definitly not use boards.ie, i hope instead to use it as a regular poster.

Interestingly there are documented cases where people who bulk spammed were in fact shot. Not that I'd condone that sort of action but it does show you how much anger spam can generate.

i know spamming can cause 'hassle', but it only did to me as i refused to delete the threads. that was my decision, and my problem. now my forum will stop impersonations, and so i have less of a problem. while your boards, on the other hand, are free to delete what you like, when you like, and nothing is there to stop you.

Hey thanks Adam, I always appreciate people complementing me on my writing skills. If I may make one more suggestion: Using capital letters at the start of sentences makes your prose easier to read. Nice use of paragraphs though.

On your point about how we can "delete what you like, when you like, and nothing is there to stop you." Well yes that is true when it comes people who abuse other members of this forum, but it is rare indeed that a moderator or admin will delete or edit a post for no good reason. And even if they did, rest assured the population of the boards would be quick to complain.

Besides you did delete some of the threads posted on your forum, so you're also a hypocrite.

Actually, don't píss off, post some more so we can all have a laugh.
