Wil CPU work with motherboard??

    Quick question for those in the know as I'm unable to get a straight answer off the web.

    Will an 1.4 GHz AYHJA Athlon CPU work in my Abit KT7 RAID motherboard?

    I know there both Socket A so that's fine but just asking to make sure.

    Yep, it will support it, but unfortunately it will run it at a lower FSB than standard (100MHz by default, not the 133MHz indicated by the stepping).

    If you want to run it at around 1400, you will need to unlock and raise the multiplier; and you'll probably have to increase the FSB slightly. I'll have a look at the manual later [something you should be doing! ;) ]

    Found something.
    I need to update my Bios to the current official version 4a which incorporates support for processors up to 1400.

    Umm better make sure my Ghost image is up to date..
