Apoligies if it's been asked before, is the place open 24/7 for the weekend?

Any thoughts on getting my box over there and still have it working? Shocks and stuff, you know. If my hdd starts making funny noises when I get there, heads will roll.

Net access there? Was that mentioned, or am I dreaming?

Probably only til eleven o clock. campus security chimps(aka the green men) will be watchin ye like hawks.
Also there is no drinking, no smoking, no breathing, no farting, no talkin and no lookin in the place its been held

The 2 pubs are just beside the place so not too bad.
Not sure bout the net access though.
All our access is controlled via password. Maybe khan has sorted sumthing out but I doubt it. ITD wouldn't like 30 machines downloading porn and mp3z all day long.

I'm sure they wouldn't mind us using the connection seeing as it's over a weekend - nobody there, the connection would be pretty much idle anyway. Just for surfing and email and such, I'm sure there will be enough people there with large hdds full of mp3s. Me for one!

hehe not too sure on the time ... could possible stay open as late as 2am... depends on security and the buildings manager.
opens at nine anyway...

although piss up saturday so might finish early for that.

Netaccess is there ... but thing is ... If we left it open ... ye'd be all on the net downloading and not on the lan . Weekend so ITD would probably not cop on til monday ... by which time it would be too late

I have a creative webcam go plus, so I can use that. Not great quality, I'd suggest getting a couple of disposable cameras too, because mine doesn't handle different light conditions well.

hope to be able to get a shot cool digital one from the SU ... hopefully ... and also a few webcams maybe ... 20mbit net conn ... Live web cams .

Kinda considering Live coverage of the lan since the nice net conn.

and I'll hopefully stock up on a few disps before hand


actually one thing ... I know a few don't have net cards ... but I lost the list of 'em ... can they email me damocles@skynet.ie ... there is a comp shop right accross from the LAN that sells them for like £25

yeah plenty of room ... we have an entire building ... there is one room where all the computers will be and a room right beside it with 8-9 snooker tables and some arcade machines too.

There are a lot of crap cards around, all using the Realtek chip... The only brands I can remember are Trust and Unex. Realtek cards are pretty crap, but they will do the job.

If you have the money, get a 3com card. They ought to be £50+, and worth it, from what I hear.

All my cards are realtek, I hate them, replacing them all with 3com ones, when I get the money.
