ok heres the thing i have an excel book with two columns for example say first name and surname..if i wanted to merge the two cells say "john" and "smith" would make john smith(very technical) but when i merge and center it only lets me keep the first cell ie "john". merge cells is ticked in the format menu under alignment…

i wouldnt want to start copying and pasting them all
