    ... its not my aptiva:)

    here the deal. i just installed a new hdd into an aptiva(oh the shame) and sent it off to the owner. now the screen resolution is static at 600x480. what to do? im looking for video drivers but that didnt work on the last one, nor did it work on mine. i am now demoting myself to techwannabe-wannabe

    If you want good answers, ask good questions.

    A little information would be nice. You installed a HDD, therefore you had the machine open. Did it occur to you to check the chip on the graphics card and see what it was? That might aid you in your quest for drivers...

    no it didnt occur to me and tis guys kid cant play RA2. plus the guy who gave it to me said he forgot all his software disks so i had to do what i could.

    ATI Expert 128 with TV Out

    basically heres the card type(pulled it from BIG BLU)

    question time

    1. in the display properties the screen resolution will not move from 600*480 (its one of those slide bar things). is the a problem due to a lack of appropriate video drivers or could it be something else?

    2. does anybody know where i can get drivers for that card(see above)?

    i tries www.ati.com but had no joy. maybe im just slow today.
