My first post was part of the Find John a Home Campaign (I'm John by the way).

I was in Dublin on work experience and my lecturer (topgold) had kindly allowed me to stay at his place untill I found my own.

After some time looking I started up the FJHC (just for a laugh) on his site and he brought it here. That's how I found Boards.ie and ye haven't been able to get rid of me since!:D

I just went to search, put in my nick, ticked 'Show posts' and searched for all posts older then 6 months, sorted them in decending order and went to 'last page'

I think that's my first post. I have a feeling it isn't though, reckon i could posted before that, or registered before that, or started reading before that....

Just search for posts by your user name and tell it to display the results in ascending order. Your oldest post should be on the top of the list then.

today i bought quake 2.......

a funny thing happened today. i was
persuaded to buy quake 2 by my now

this is the earliest i can find here.
however, i did post on devores board before this. the names of these previous spinsol incarnations escapes me at present.
but i think the first ever post to any of the boards in their former guises was a thank you to all the people who had taken part in a huge q1 v q2 insultathon which amused me mightily as i sat doing shift work in ibm. so it was probably sometime between january 98 and april 98.
must do a goog;e search for whitewashman and see how long ive been around

My First Post was an in depth comparison to the Quake board on the relative merits of two of the most popular games the world has ever seen. And I still play both on a regular basis.

And so amp arrived at the boards at 03:21 PM on 29-08-1999, a day that will live in infamy.

Of course, it's all Wwmans fault. Kept goin on about the irish quake scene and playing that crappy Q2 till all hours of the morning until I became addicted to the crack cocaine that is the boards.
