win98 rebooting instead of shutting down

    I have a win98 machine that whenever I tell it to
    shutdown it goes and reboots its slef and I have
    to then hit the power button to turn it off.
    Now its not a problem with the machine as it automatically
    shuts down fine from linux and FreeBSD.

    It was working fine until (I think) after I installed
    client for windows networks (or whatever its called)
    to mount SMB shares off another machine.

    Any Ideas ?

    A bit OT:

    From the above linked page:

    Shutdown problems in Windows 98 Second Edition can be caused by any of the following issues:

    * ...
    * There is a damaged Exit Windows sound file.
    * ...

    hahahaha! hahahah!

    Sorry. Just find it hilarious...

    Woot!!

    Seemed to be the "Fast Shutdown Registry Key", or a
    combination of that and one of the ones above it :)
