im using hyperterminal and when i get to the white txt screen and i cant type. i've never used it before. anybody know what to do.

different machines require different settings

replied b4 i saw this.

im in work now and the problem is at home.

connection is a 56k modem
machine; p4 1.7 using XP

how would it make a difference?

If you're looking for a telnet client, use PuTTY:

Putty as going to be my answer from just reading the thread subject.
Putty rox and the newest version is real nice.

I'm looking for a putty-style term emulator that will let me use the the function and cursor keys. Will putty do this for me? I d/l'd it last nite, but it looks the same as all the others. no f-keys?
