Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Right just putting up some advice on contents of posts on this board.

If you are going to make sweeping statements, make sure you back it up. One line statements will be deleted by me without proper backup.

You can post on whatever subject you like as long as its relevant to this board and you do it without resorting to abuse of another member.

Bonkey can add whatever he thinks is relevant as well. These are my thoughts and this is how I am going to moderate.

Not much more to add, except a plea to keep it reasonably civil, and reasonably on topic.

I'm as bad as the next guy for wandering off topic, but I'll make an effort to be better :)

I'll also add warnings to threads that stray too far...if you have an alternate angle to discuss, then discuss it in an alternate thread. Threads that go so far off topic as to be effectively a new topic will be closed....mostly to force you to put it in an appropriately named thread :)

I know this seems a bit draconian, but I'm fed up of seeing every economic discussion turn into "down with globalisation, up with <insert alternative>" versus "theres nothing wrong with capitalism", and so on....

Abuse to other posters will not be tolerated. As I said somewhere on the humanities thread :

If you wouldnt say it to your parents, your grandparents, you teacher, your professor or your boss, then you shouldnt say it here.

Or words to that effect :)

Agreed. These are the views of the administrators who will back the mods up on this.
