Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Isreali response - OTT?

After the horrible Hamas attack on civilians within Isreal a response from Isreal was expected. I admit to more than a little intrepidation when it was reported that Sharon was on his way back to Isreal to co-orinate the "realiation" himself, given his track record.

However even I was suprised to see pictures broadcast of an (alledged) Hamas gun man dead on the street, riddled with bullets. It was not this (in itself) that was disturbing but the camera shot cut to a picture of the mans apparent weapon, an AK47 with a folding stock. The folding had be bent at a 90 degree angle to the main boy of the weapon, indicating it had been crushed. The the body of the suspect was shown again and it was apparent the his left leg was dislocated from his hip and twisted to an odd angle.

To the best of my knowledge even the harshest police or military actions around the world do not involve the crushing of "suspects" with a heavy vehicles. For an army that prides itself on its control and mastery of a captive population, this is surely a step beyond in a whole new zone of punishment.

It looks like Israel will be taking some drastic action today, if past actions is anything to go by.

I would just like to say this is exactly what the sucide bombers masters wanted, a halt to the peace moves being engineered, and a further entrenching of Israeli, and Palestinian attiudes.
Also Arafat's ability to delive peace further undermined by the polarisation of views on his side.
