    Yes I do have a phone extension lead,it's about 25/30 feet long. I need it cos the phone socket is at the other end of the room and I can't move the pc any closer (small house,irate girlfriend watching t.v. Etc.)
    Is there a way of boosting the signal of the extension????????
    Also, any ideas of an Init. string to use.

    You can get hardware boosters in electronic stores e.g. Peats I'd say, not sure how much they are tho. If you use the internet a lot it might be worth your while getting a second line which would solve the problem of the extension if you got the socket installed beside you comp. Then if you get an snl account you can just leave in online from 6pm to 8am.

    Otherwise just try to make sure the wire isn't kinked or like rolled up in a ball or something when you're using it.
