i have a soundblaster sound card, win2000 and a kt7 motherboard and the sound doesnt work so anyway of fxing it without reinstalling something like windows again?

Thats incredibly vague. This is the technology board, not the mind-reading board. Could you specify exactly what type of soundblaster it is, and what the error is (look in control panel -> system -> device manager -> hardware ), and you might have some hope of getting a helpful reply

I hope I don't appear dumb, but don't you need a little more than

a soundblaster sound card, win2000 and a kt7 motherboard

to get anything to work......:rolleyes:
