Socks to Http proxy

Hi,
I found a proxy that will convert socks5 requests into http, pass them through your http proxy and get them onto the web where you can then access whatever you want that uses socks5. Handy. But its only for windows 9*/nt. Anyone seen something similar for linux? I found a program that lets you create a tunnel between your machine and another via http but then i'd need to be able to run this program on the other machine as well (and then use that other machines socks proxy). Any ideas?

as far as i remember there is an rfvc out there for ip over avian carrier ... could be the answer :P

cos quake3 will run over a socks proxy.. and just about everywhere has a web proxy

Hah Sam! You shall never play q3 in college either! I doubt the pings would be good going through a http proxy, but it would give me access to napster and anything else i wanted. The site is http://www.totalrc.net/s2h/index.html
