"And here's some good news for fans disappointed by some of FOTR's omissions: the DVD, being released later this year, should have an extra thirty to forty minutes of footage on it. The additions would include some much-needed interaction and development among the members of the Fellowship, an important aspect of the book that was weakly portrayed in the film. Another addition would include the sequence in which Gimli falls for Galadriel, a turning point for his distrust of Elves.

I just read that Peter Jackson's original cut was 4 hours 45 minutes long.
And that it's going to be released as a director's cut at some stage.

What a good place to make my return to boards.I have seen fotr twice and intend to go a third i have also seen pearl harbour one of the worst most boring pieces of **** ever!fotr has good acting pearl harbour has some pretty boy eye candy for teen girls how have as much acting skills as you have maturity.fotr has several excellent action scenes pearl harbour has one which isnt even that good.If any half relevcant and decent points were made maby i would listen to youre arguement but fotr is one of the best major hollywood productions in a long time.

I'll say one thing - Star Wars "Empire Strikes Back"

Anyone who can't watch a film part of a trilogy, watch this film, you'll get used to it and realise that sometimes the best films don't always need to have a concluded ending.

I think the best films are the ones that don't exactly have a standard ending.

Empire Strikes Back is easily the best out of all the star wars films.

    Twelve Monkeys.
    Memento.
Niether of those had a "Decent" ending, as such. And they're all the better for it.

To be honest I just found the film boring. The first half an hour was really good but then it just got tedious, there wasnt enough action. I didnt find the characters interesting and to be honest i was really disappointed. I found it so tedious that I even needed to go out for a ciggerette in the middle of it. In saying that i went with 2 other friends. One thought it was "absolutely fantaastic" while the other just thought it was "ok fighting bits were good".

I think partly why I was disappointed was because I was expecting to see was gandalf using his powers to fight off armies of orcs etc but what I got was gandalf only using his powers to fight twice in the whole film. About the ending being abrupt, I didnt care I was so bored by then that I was glad it finished

Longfield you spanner.. The movie was brilliant.. sure i have read the books so i understood it but as just a movie it had an ending.. the ending it needed.. remember its about the fellowship!! and that fellowship came to an end so ends the movie.. The rest is about each groups individual quest. Read the book you muppet and you may understand more. Im tempted to slash the tires on your Virago hehe... Btw did you get a job yet? Gary did....
