Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Quoting Websites, Dublin Socialist "Workers".

This website was recently quoted on this board in order to prove or back up a point.

I believe this is an example of how some people on this board think that they can cement their opinions by posting a link to some ridiculously-biased socialist website. "Oh yeah? Well, take a look at this then: http://www.silly-revolutionary-ranting.com".

I had a good look at this www3.sympatico.ca/sworker site and most of it reads like it was written by some angry Canadian middle-class 14 year-olds. There's plenty of wild accusations, conjecture and flavour-of-the-month protestations. But (as usual) very few real solutions (only the usual stuff: establishment of a Marxist society, worker revolt, etc, etc).

As an aside, why do most of the Socialist "Worker" people that I see around Dublin sound like they come from the more affluent areas of the city. Just curious, but you'd think they'd have less reason than anyone to "revolt against the system".

Sorry as we are all not telepathic can you please tell us with regard to what post recently.

Most of the links added by posters on this board are normally from reliable or respected sources so don't use one instance to generalise.

Your post here is just a trolling rant as far as I can see. Please prove me wrong (or I will lock this post later tonight).

    Gandalf.

Have you statistics to back up your observation that "most of the Socialist "Worker" people ... around Dublin sound like they come from the more affluent areas of the city"?

I don't disagree with you that website citations aren't the most reliable but you seem, incredulously, to be guilty of generalising as much as the people who you accuse.

You might want to soften your approach a little. And why the middle-class isn't allowed to voice socialist, left-wing opinions if they so wish is beyond me. The only thing which should be asked of people like me and everyone from any section of society is that we don't assume we can speak for everybody - each person has to own their position. We have to understand that whatever position anyone occupies, their views of the world will be coloured by that so your accusation is really, really petty. At least some people seem to be making an effort to become knowledgeable of situations rather than accepting some kind of middle-class limbo or bitter, downtrodden arrogance.
