Basically on my old PC when I boot up it takes about 2 minutes to recognise the Hard disk and sometimes it wont recognise it at all.
On my other pc with the same hard disk I dont get this problem.
    Anyone any ideas?

    Hiya PHB,

Are the hard disk settings in the old computer's BIOS set to 'AUTODETECT' (or similar), or are the settings (cylinders, heads, sectors etc. ) set manually?

If set to autodetect, try manual settings. The correct values should be printed on the drive itself, or should be available from the manufacturer's website. If set manually, verify correctness.
