system preformance

    can anyone recommend an app. for checking system proformances. im talking about how fast your ram, your ide drives, controllers etc are running and maybe even tells you how to max them.
    im quiet surte my systme is rnning slower than it should be but then again ive got a load of stuff in it, so id like to try and see where the bottle neck is.

    Defrag works for me

    reinstalling the OS normally cleans things up too ;)
    Most of the benchmark progs do what you want but cost €€€'s

    Get the trial one. Works for the time u'll be using it and there's damn all difference between the registered and shareware versions for normal use.

    I just ran sandra after all the good words it got from here

    Wot type of results do ppl get with a system like mine

    750 AMD duron-192 ram-8 gigs-crappy S3 savage 32mb card

    i got 2011 in the first bar and 993 in the second

    is that how it rates the preformance,used to 3dmark myself, really good prog told me everything
