COunting all the effort they had to put into selling it and supporting the PC (Theoretically) it's actually cheaper for OEMs to upgrade you than give you your money back. As long as the supervisor you talk to is aware of this, and you do have a valid record of complaints (And a brass neck) you should be able to get a new pc....

theres absolutely no chance of you getting money back from dixons.
they will offer a repair and if you keep badgering perhaps a replacement but its extremely unlikely that youll get a cash or credit exchange.

If there's definitly something wrong with the PC of course you have every right to your money back. You'll never get it back tho.

It could be difficult to track exactly what the problem is, and it could be several different problems. The manager will probably try to blag his way out of it saying it must be something your friend did.

If you have a genuine case keep at it. You 'd probably have to go to court to get your money back but if you whinge and moan enough in front of his customers you might get a new PC.

Talk to the Consumer Advice Bureau they have offices located on O'Connell Street (near the Eircom offices). They'll be able to help or at least give you some leaflets which you can show to the Di><ons manager explaining your rights in black and white. As far as I can remember though, as it is over 1 month, they are within their rights to offer either a replacement or repair, if the repair fails to meet your requirements THEN you can insist upon a replacement PC.
