    Last night on network 2 they had a top twenty irish performers.

    I enjoyed watchign it except...I have never heard of the no1 cant remember his name even...all i knoww they showed one of his songs and it was terrible, compared to the likes of U2 (2nd) or the dubliners (7th or was it 8th?) etc etc. Was this a joke or was it real if so...could someone tell me why? Anyone who saw it.

    The number one was Aidan Walsh. And why I hear you ask? Well, its very simple really, he's the master of the Universe. Trust me on this one. We are all his happy slaves. If in doubt or too young to know, get the video "Aidan Walsh, Master of the Universe" out and soon all will become clear.

    I think rory was 18th to anwser your question I think phil lynot was 4th the coors 3rd u2 2nd and aiden walsh 1st I thin the boomtown rats, roney drew and the dubliners made the top ten as well

    Because irregardless of wether we like pop music The Corrs do pretty good Pop. The critics abroad liked them alot. Their quite successful in the States which is the big market. If you break the US thats when you make a fortune.

    Were The Pogues in there anywhere good?

    Pogues can provide great entertainment when they perform, but i suppose some of the time shane mcgowan won't even perform.. so that makes him a bad entertainer.

    This is an "of all time" list? if thats the case then the corrs don't deserve 3rd at all... Rory Gallagher yes tho. Ya the corrs are very popular in their genre.. but i'd say a few decades ago there were some hugely entertaining showbands also... altho i suppose RTE was afraid of what would happen if they put a showband instead of Rory Gallagher :)

    When did it turn into "most entertaing" musical performers? It's best musicians.

    And showbands were one of the worst things to ever happen in Irish music

    You all seem to be forgetting the fact that the entire show was a complete joke. Van Morrison not in the top ten? or if he was he was quite high (10 or 9).
    The fact that they put Aiden in at 1 just negated the whole thing all over again.
