Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Their DVD's look out of date, but the price/service offered is excellent.

Not a huge collection and I'd like to see the turnaround. You definetly won't have 1 dvd a day, maybe every 3rd day if you're lucky.

Hopefully they'll have more than one copy of each dvd, Still its a very good idea. Fair play, I'd use it if I was allowed 2 dvds per mailing and if they had more interesting movies.

the company in the US is www.netflix.com - they used to give you up to three dvds at any one time, and would send you your next shipment when you *said* you put the return in the post. the problems were not enough copies of the popular movies (and they also now wait until they receive the movie back before sending out the next, but you can still have 3 checked out).

That seems to be the tightest part here, one at a time and reliance on the Post. I can go to my local rental place and get one per week at just over 4 euro each...but I love the idea!

It looks good, but does anyone know haow many DVDs you can have at one time. It's very unclear.
There is no limit. As soon as you receive your DVD return it ASAP so as we can dispatch your next movie.
    according to the FAQ.

Having worked in a Viddy Shop for a year and a half, I can only imagine the amount of Discs that will go "Missing In Action". Theft is one of the biggest costs to the biz and having briefly scanned their T.o.C. its very non-distinct.

The idea is great but possibly ahead of its time. Its the kind of thing that may eventually work in a "Video on Demand" format but prolly not ATM. For the consumer its convienent but I cant see it being profitable long term

[website could do with an overhaul as well]

I think they may have the theft aspect rapped 80P, you steal the DVD, then they charge your credit card.
    :)

    In reflection prolly yes.
But I do think that it would be a bit of logistical nightmare from an entreprenurial point of view. However I can imagine that the overheads would lower when you take into account the cost of storefits, staff, utilities, rates etc.

Unless they are already in the business it might not be a good thing just to start into unless they have some experience (like with anything)

I'm interested to see how it goes for them:)

Check the 'Adult' section. Eh, not that I went there. Or anything.

looks like it mite be quite good. the only thing is you would have to be getting about 6 dvds a month to be getting good value, so it all comes down to how long they take in the post.

the other way to look at it is, i wouldnt normally rent a dvd every time i brought 1 back, where as, this encourages it.

i am considering signing up, thanks 4 the link

spoke to a dutch friend recently, regular price for renting english lang dvds is €1 per dvd in Holland !!
Irish vid stores or is it the movie labels that are ripping us off ?
so i guess the web idea for €20 flat per month is a good idea, a bit of competition at last.

I registered with these guys last month and they have totally screwed me out of it. I read the website thinking i could get 1 dvd a day and at the least, 1 dvd every two days (like the website said) - having been registered for a month, my first dvd arrived a week and a half after registering and now i only recieve 1 dvd every week, thats when i send it back the next day after watching it  (those bastards!)
