http://www.foreignpolicy.com have just released their Globalization Index for 2002 which ranks the top global nations, and Ireland is on top of the heap, numero uno.The index is built up from surveys of 62 countries based on four criteria, one of which is technology. The technology index is based on internet users per capita, hosts and secure servers.We are 19th out of 62 for internet users per capita in 2001, and 30th out of 62 for Internet Hosts: behind most of our eu neighbours. (We rank 10th out of 62 for secure servers).The only message you have to take from this is that those responsible for the internet infrastructure in Ireland* are holding development in Ireland back.

*Just in case the Û are suffering from excessive paranoia about this, I mean Everyone - regulator, government AND those in charge of a certain Local Loop.
