Case Modding

After chattering to phaxx and seeing his case with shiny new blue leds, I'm thinking of modding my case - but I have no experience in this at all, so I'm looking for some help here

I'd like to put a few blue leds on the front of it. What I need is a good guide on how to do all of this without trashing my case. Would it be possible to somehow rig the leds to turn on/off in sequence or anything like that?

Hope this helps email me pokey@esatclear.ie if you have any more modding questions , you might want to consider cutting a few blow holes in your comp for fans (I have done this) or putting a clear plastic window in the side of it (I have done this too)

Just about the glass, what did you use and how much?

Erm thats not glass on the side , its clear polycarbonate or better know as perspex or plexiglass in the states , it cost me 20 quid for a piece 3 foot by 3 foot.

How did you mount it too? Must look into cutting it. Thinking of a diagonal design with a frosted design on it.

Erm I used panel adhesive to mount the window , and it can be cut to size using a regular wood saw , just make sure its a fine tooth .Another bit of advice when sawing the stuff dont saw straight down angle the saw a good bit or it will crack easy. If your trying to cut this stuff with a jigsaw or similar it wont work very well because when the plastic is heated by the friction of the electric saw it will fuse back together as you go along . Youll end up with a big frankenstein type scar in the plastic :P Erm I bought the perspex in Telfords of portlaoise , any self respecting hardware store should have it.

I used 4mm stuff for the window so it wouldnt be flimsy

I think I'll strip down the case and spray it on the inside.
I'#m thinking mettalic marine blue all around with white 'go-fasteh stripes' down the front.

Nah.......where's the fun in buying something readymade?
besides, once I got the lighting sorted I could nearl;y get a fellah to cut me out my own design for a bit cheaper, and in aluminium finish too. An entire 5.25" bay wasted imho

I have one on the top panel of my case sucking out the hot air that rises up in the case . I also have 1 at the back above the GPU .
