Hosted - going to switch to a new PHP/SQL script for our hosted pages, this will probably mean a change of password for whoever has hosted pages already.

DNewsWeb - gonna set that up now.

Having a few problems with the members stuff, the old format is .dir / .pag and the new format is .db.

Anyway, more as it happens!

www.boards.ie and boards.ie now resolving here at last - yay!

The hosted members will hopefully be fixed shortly, just have to convert the members user/pass details from one format to another, the scripts are basically working okay.

A new ads system has been put in place, and some gammy counters have been taken off the end of each page so that should speed things up significantly.

Also Regi had the good idea to remove some dead banners from the main page which also really speeded things up.

More as it comes to us.

Yea, I really like the * thingy to, and I was said to see it back. I notice a bit of adifference even though I'm in england and on a really fast connection, things seem to be loading up quicker. Good work everyone.

to add to to-do list:

* create the file pack (images, html, stylesheet) for community mods to customise the look&feel of their boards.

* put back in "hosted" link for those that have their home page on the boards.ie site (?)

No doubt could is working on the member pages as we speak, but the File Manager isn't working (yet).

Also all links seem to point to 'troll.boards.ie......' instead of 'www.' but that's minor and only aesthetic really

None of the member area scripts are working yet until this db problem is cleared, hopefully in the next few days.

hmmm the GLminesweeper info page seems to work. Or is the aul server still up. But then they're be two servers on the same....
