Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The only gripe is the occassional slow page, in particular the front page. Maybe because it sods of to work out "Latest 20 Posts from Bulletin and Community Boards" every time - this would be several tiems a minute.

PS We still wuv u Cloud / Regi / DeVore

Hey, stop taking the piss!:D

Anyway I've just spent a frustrating 20 mins trying to get boards.ie to load when on UTV, it woud'nt not even after hitting the refresh several times, so problems on that front remain,
I'm on IOL right now and evreything's hunky-dory...

Mike.

I am completely at a loss as to what UTV think they are doing but its deffo *their* problem :)

Can you do a tracert from dos ("tracert www.boards.ie")
and paste the results here and I'll look at them anyway.

Thanks,
Tom.

Mike - its not hard. Just open up a dos window whilst connected to UTV and type the following:
tracert www.boards.ie

Then just copy and paste the output into a post here.

Okay, have looked in Win Help files so
I won't freak out. I'm logging off now and will post result of UTV test on Friday.

It happens regularly with UTV DeV. I was stuck with two ISP's last week, UTV and BuyandSell.net (BuyandSell.net is redirecting to UTV now afaik), and I couldn't get to boards.ie. I've previously had problems with them, and reported it here.

They run an invisible proxy, perhaps it's misconfigured? Or possibly you banned one of their sysops and he decided to exact revenge? :)

Might be an idea to drop them a line though, it's definitely their fault.

UTV -> Boards:

C:\>tracert troll.boards.ie

Tracing route to troll.boards.ie [195.218.115.65]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 50 ms 60 ms 50 ms 195.218.116.9
2 60 ms 51 ms 70 ms 195.218.116.9
3 50 ms 71 ms 60 ms UTV-DUB-fastethernet0/0.116.218.195.in-addr.arpa [195.218.116.1
4 60 ms 60 ms 50 ms 195.218.126.174
5 60 ms 60 ms 60 ms 195.218.112.194
6 50 ms 60 ms 71 ms 195.218.112.3
7 60 ms 71 ms 70 ms troll.boards.ie [195.218.115.65]

Trace complete.

It's a lot slower alright.
(Also NTL cable internet doesn't go through the Inex either  so give them a good ear bashing as well).

Thats f*ckin hilarious.

I've just found out what you have confirmed.

Get ready, this is a scream... UTV are hosted with Nevada Tele.com, the same people Boards.ie is hosted with.

In fact, Regi was out there two days ago and their servers are about 10 metres from ours!

They dont need an INEX connection, they are on the same backbone as us! (you can see that from that tracert ... it never leaves the 195.218.* subnet).

The ping time is sweet, so it must be something on their end screwing things up... by rights they should be the fastest...
