It works fine when i open the link in a browser win, but i really want to get it working in the taskbar :)

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

all the taskbar is, is a small and stripped down IE window... if you are getting it ok in a browser window you should have no problem getting it in a the ticker-style window...

I'm stumped... particularly since you are getting the error
"Cannot find 'http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/ticker.php'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct. "
which would indicate that it cant connect to that page (which clearly you can).

Weird. Can you make sure you arent doing anything wrong?

    DeV.

Actually, I get the same thing (404). Fine in a browser window, won't work as a toolbar.

I guess the toolbar is ignoring my proxy settings? That's the only thing which makes sense.

    K

    [EDIT]

Oh, see that Moriarity isn't using a proxy...

    Completely stumped then.

    Using Win2k/IE5.5 myself.

    [/EDIT]

I either get a 404 or "cannot be displayed" error using winxp pro :/

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

and to make things even weirder... I *am* using a proxy and it works fine...

    Win2k, IE5.0

    DeV.

I'm also getting a blank toolbar which when i put cursor over, changes the cursor to busy.
And when i move the toolbar to desktop, it's then called About:Blank.

I have it on me home pc (win2k ie6, as seen above) and in work through a wingate proxy server and it works on both. Although most times i've got to kick it about with teh refresh. Which is a little annoying cos the right click area to refresh is about one pixel high. That said I'm using Slydices one at home so dunno.

For some reason it works now.
