ok im having trouble getting log in scripts to work.
    ive created the accounts.
ive created the logon scripts. theres a few of them.
ive added script names into user account profiles.
ive put the scripts into the import and export\scripts folders in repl and i can see them all in netlogon.
when i go to use them, they dont seem to work.
on my own script, all i get is my network drive. which i have set in the profile of my own user account anyway.
but apparently you need it in the logon script as well (is this true?)
anyone have any ideas why they wont run?
if i run the batch file on its own, i get all my drives.
and i can access all of them through net neighbourhood

    heres my own script

    default.bat

    net time \\uxb04 /set /yes

    net use s: \\uxb03\sdrive
    net use w: \\uxb03\geodata
    net use m: \\uxb03\finance
    net use v: \\uxb01\timesheet
    net use q: \\uxb04\petrovw
    net use p: \\uxb04\petrasrv
    net use f: \\uxb03\%username%

Prolly not the same problem but anyway...

When I was in Clare Co. Co. when we'd set up a new account, the script would run fine the first time, but anytime after that it would throw back an error message "Error (whatever number can't remember) Drive already in use" we resolved it by maping to the netlogon and then disconnecting all network drives, logging out and login back in again. Solved our problem! :)

U using Novell? or Client services for NetWare?

no netware at all. i can use those :)
no, i know about drives in use.
the problem is that it doesnt appear to be working at all. ie, it doesnt even try to run the batch file.

    Hey WWMan,

Just want to check.. Is the Server a Primary Domain Controler and are the Workstations set to log onto a domain?

[Edit]If you want I can give you a hand over MSN.. just add michael@adest.com[/edit]

In the logon Script entry of the profile did you put in the full path to the bat file or just the name (The Entry should just say default.bat if that is the name of the file.. no path)

its ok, i figured it out :)
the replication was setup correctlly so none of the login scripts were being copied over to an NT 3.51 server where the logins are apparently being validated.
copied over and now working sqiffily.
well, i think we managed to teach everyone whos rea this thread today how to set up scripts !

dont ask me, i dont understand anything :)

by me some drink in the duty free will you?
