ms have bought a significant portion of corel but they are non voting shares,
i.e. MS have no actual say in the running of corel so hopefully it should not affect the actual opreation of corel,
guess we gotta wait & see

Someone was saying that it's just a weak attempt by Microsoft to promote the fiction that there's some real competition in the Office suite market. Sounds sufficiently paranoid.

maybe, but that's what they did with Apple. They bought enough stock in it to stop it going under so they wouldn't become an monopoly on thier OS by default.
