Just wondering if like me anyone has a song or songs or even just a riff they always start playing when they pick up a guitar or a favourite song to play. For some reason with me its either theunder the bridge intro or the day tripper riff.
My favourite song to play though has to be jeff buckley hallelujah atm.
What about the rest of u geetar players out there?

Acoustically I always break into “wish you where here” the basic riff is easy but the solo sounds really cool on the acoustic.

On the electric I love to play Just, My Iron Lung (yeah I’m a radiohead fan get over it) Purple Haze or Sweet Child of Mine.

Hallelujah is also cool to play on the electric. Too bad I can’t hit the high notes.

I'm having alot of fun playing Welcome to The Jungle - Guns N' Roses at the mo'

But when I pick up a guitar I always seem to play the Intro solo for Fade to Black - Metallica.

Touch Like Angel Of Death by Children Of Bodom.
Lethaly catchy, and great fun to play.

Other than that, it's mostly my own guitar riffs I play.

Maybe a bit of Cradle Of Filth now and then.

Emperor - I am The Black Wizards.
Now that a legendary guitar riff, can play that over and over again.

The FANJ - where did you get "Wish you were here?" You are talking about the Pink Floyd song right? I've looked for ages and can't find a correct version. Anyway recently I've started breaking into "Just a Day" by Feeder any time I pick up a guitar.

I find myself tuning to drop-D and lashing out Deftones Bored cause it's so easy :)

I also play daft things like Hell March from the game Red Alert and generally just muck about after that.

I usually start off with my own stuff and then work my way through loads of covers. The following always pop up in the list...

Slayer - Angel of Death, Raining Blood, The Antichrist, Dead Skin Mask.

MetallicA - Master of Puppets, Seek and Destroy, Fade to Black, The Four Horsemen, One.

Maiden - The Trooper, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Phantom of The Opera.

PanterA - Cemetary Gates, what a fuppin song, yummy.

Sepultura - Altered State, Desperate Cry.

Those songs always end up being played somewhere along the jammin' session.
