weird monitor problem

After the pc has been powered off for quite a while, the monitor seems to get no vga signal from the graphics card, and the pc beeps as if there is no monitor connected. After the pc has been powered off for quite a while, the monitor seems to get no vga signal from the graphics card, and the pc beeps as if there is no monitor connected. Reseting the computer immediately sorts it out, needless to say I dont want to have to do that every time I boot up.

The computer is plugged into a power strip with a large amount of devices (6) hanging off said power strip, I am thinking this might be the cause although I could be wrong.

Ideas?

Well why dont you unplug all those devices and see if the problem disappears.
