I recently got a hitachi DVD-RAM drive (fer nout - heh heh) and according to the tech info it cant burn CD-R's or CD-RW's but has no probs reading them.

You may be able to burn cdrs with a DVD-R drive, I think thats different technology to a dvd ram drive....

So to make a short story shorter I guess it depends on the burner because mine cant do it, it can only burn to DVD-RAM disks in those cassettes.

    Yeah, depends on the drive.

Read the burner specs carefully and look for some reviews before you buy.
