The machine is rarely used and the owner is looking to get 2000 Euro for it. Do you think he will ? I don't know the resale value of macs.

Fair enough, it doesn't have a monitor but I'd rather have this G4.

Split the price down the middle, add a century, add the price of the monitor and you're getting closer methinks.

not a hope marcus. Gordon is correct, but i think even hes asking a bit too much. Cpu is underspecced and there isnt a whole lot of ram in it:/

for Eur 2000 you get

G4-350, 64Mb, 10Gb, DVD-R 17"

For Eur 1919 you get the new basic new iMac:

G4-700, 128Mb, 40Gb, CD-RW, 15"

CDRW is much more useful than DVD-R (I think), and the 15" is flat screen. Double the RAM, 4 times the storage, twice the processing power, and the thing looks cool too.

Yeah, I was thinking that alright. Hmmm, he doesn't know much about computers, he must thinking he'll get 90% of purchase price cos he barely used it or something.
