Any Mac heads here?

There seem to be a few people with some Mac knowledge posting here...(although I do not know if this is a Mac issue really).
I'm currently doing some contract work for a company who run a Mac based network. They've just build a 2nd office a few miles down the road from the original one and I've set up a microwave link for them so that all machines are on a LAN. All seems to work OK in as far that they can log on to servers over the link using the (Apple) chooser, or open filemaker databases over the link etc. However, it is impossible to acces a machine's HD directly. Meaning that if I open the hooser and type in the machines IP address it "sees" the machine no problem, only there do not seem to be any shared resources.....
Does anyone have an idea what could cause this?

    Mayhem.
