More fodder for the working groups...

The [Financial Times] also reports that according to a new study commissioned by the Institute of International Trade of Ireland, Ireland is in danger of being left behind due to its failure to roll out broadband and other high-tech infrastructure. Professor Frank Bradley, president of the Institute, outlined some of the findings in the report at its launch on Thursday, saying that 50 percent of small firms in the software and services sector say they could increase sales by 80 percent if they had a better Internet infrastructure. Thirty-two percent blamed lack of Internet services for lack of business development and the report also highlights that the cost of Internet access is major barrier to doing e-business.

Here's a story in the Examiner about that report.

The report itself is not online at present at the institute's website but should be up late next week.
