Is there anyone out there who rides?
I can't seem to find anyone, I've only recently gotten in2 BMX and would totally appriciate hearing from anyone out there.
Especially from those with a few years expierence, who'd be willing to help a dumbass learn a few tricks!
    Cheer's !!

UCD area is pretty full of BMXers. There's a few who live in around Ranelagh, and ride down around that area Ranelagh/Donnybrook. UCD is really good for starting out, but services will do their damndest to get rid of ya, and there are cameras everywhere, so you can only get in 30 mins riding max. Keeps you full of adrenaline tho ;) Try get a friend involved, and just spend all of your free time cruising the streets, trying out stuff, and you have to bump into someone. Most of them are fairweather riders too, so they're quite scarce on the streets until it gets dry and less cold, so they'll spend most of the time in a skatepark out in Santry. If it's raining or cold, forget it, they won't be out. I haven't ridden in nearly a year now because of money constraints, but I hope to be back out around April, so I might see ya around! :)

Heh, the guys in the jeeps really do 'think' they're the police. As a kid, getting a chase off them was such good fun :D

Services actually havent any powers. They are obliged to escort you off the college grounds but they can't lay a finger on you. However, they can call the police and they do the job instead. There's cameras all over the place so you can't excape their gaze; services patrol the grounds every 30 minutes in their van. Hehe, it's great when you're knacker drinking on campus - "I won't tell you again to get off campus! This is the forth time!" Hehehe.

But I'm sure there are better places to ride - you BMX types just annoy us on campus. Are there not youth centres or YMCA's you can go to instead?

What use would that be? Riding up and down stairs sucks, and the YMCA building is so old the banisters would porlly break if you tired peg stall on 'em :D
