Hi, Just got me an MS Sidewinder Precision wheel with pedals...excellent piece of kit..specially with Grand Prix 3. What a game...anyway.. The wheel is USB and works just fine but after use me modem refuses to admit it exists...manager says port is already open. Have to remove the modem, plug out the wheel and reinstall…

Hi,

Is it a PCI modem? Is the Wheel your only USB device?
Chances are the USB controller is sharing an IRQ with your modem. Just move it to a dif. PCI slot.
If it's an ISA modem and this is still the case try changing the modem's IRQ in Device manager.
