first off i'm not a fan of thin lizzy and other classic stuff.
my own faves would be
MBV-loveless
U2 - Joshua Tree

I would say for the effect the album had at the time it would have to be the Joshua Tree, although it probably would not be my favourite. Stuck togethor with Gods Glue by something happens is a great album as is paradise in the picturehouse by the Stunning.
