How much do you reckon the whole thing would cost? I want to do something like this sometime in the next 2-3 years

usits world hopper packages come in handy for something like that, saves money on flights anyway...
-singapore-australia-fiji-l.a.-new york-ireland- iirc.. (the brochures upstairs and i couldnt be arsed walking up)

I put a bit of consideration into something similar a while back as I've plenty of money at the mo and no job to tie me down, and at the moment i've decided to just plump for bumming around europe on my own for about a month or so..

pricewise i'd reckon you'd be looking at about €4000 minimum for the 6 months.. thats not including flights either.. of course that could come down by hippying around with a tent or so, but thats a bit more hassle when you are on your own.

when you thinkin of headin off?

well i hope to be getting ready to go in April/May...this is an unrealistic p.o.v at the mo as my funds are still kinda dry...but that will change soon....

what do you peeps think about a loan??? whats the hassle/good things/problems with that??

    Is it advisable?

Is there anyone out there that has done this sort of thing before?? if i would love to hear from ya???

Oh, and, i found this R.T.W idea from Travel Finders....anyone dealt with them before???

    cheers and beers

If you’re looking for a good company try Trail Finders they’re on Dawson Street, Dublin. I got a flight from Dublin to London then from London to Frankfort and from Frankfort to Beijing then I spent 6 weeks travelling over land by train to Saigon in South Vietnam.

Flying back from Saigon (with stop over in for 30 min Bangkok) to Frankfurt then Frankfurt to Dublin. The total cost was just 600 pounds.
You can go in to there shop and they will work out the route that best suits you and they do there best to get you where you want.
One point about my flight I decide to go to china just 3 weeks before I left so it was not the best time to book a flight.

Trail Finders are a good company, ask them, they would have 1000's of different routes to go, round the world tickets go only in one direction.

    lo there
i went traveling on my own for 4 months during the summer. i went through vietnam, laos and into thailand. i never had any problems and to be honest think going on your own is a whole lot better than going with a group. anyway you are never really on youre own as theres so many people travelling as well that you always end up hanging out with differant groups of people.
ill give ya a hint for meeting people, play lots of pool when you can, as you always end up chatting with your apponant.
